A lot of the 911 truther crap on YouTube has been lifted from this flick.
This is film is yet more proof that you don't need god to have religion. The religious brain is alive and kicking inside a lot of people that call themselves atheist. Kicking god is easy, kicking belief without substance, that's in the too hard basket. Yes, we do have a Zeitgeist group here. No, I will not link it.
Media criticism of Zeitgeist movie is unbalanced being mainly negative and abusive with the film critics abandoning film criticism for ideological correctness.
I had to read that three or four times when I first saw it. It never occurred to them that consensus of expert opinion was "negative and abusive" because the "facts" of the film were fabricated around an overzealous desire to denigrate religion. Reality is enough. Why make stuff up?
No worries. Zeitgeist, like all other lunatic ravings today, has also benefited by what I call 'censorship through freedom'. The sheer volume of Zeitgeist groupie blogging has rendered it virtually impossible to find any objective discussion whatsoever with any search engine due to overload unless you're prepared to drill through 100's of garbage results.
The death of the traditional newspaper and the ascent of the citizen blogger is a bigger threat to us (and reality) in the 21st century than any horde of theists could ever dream to be.
I just checked the website: "Started in late 2008, The Zeitgeist Movement exists fundamentally as the communication and activist arm of an organization called The Venus Project. In some ways it could be categorized as a "Sustainability Movement", in part. The basic pursuit of The Movement is to begin a transition into a new, sustainable social design called a “Resource-Based Economy”. This term was first coined by Jacque Fresco of the Venus Project and refers to an economic structure based exclusively on strategic resource management, as the starting point for all decisions."
Strategic resource management? What does that mean? Off to do more reading.
