Having taught philosophy most of my working life, and having also been deeply involved in the study of Indian thought, I came to the conclusion that advaita is one of the most sophisticated yet erroneous theories one can find. Though fascinating as speculation, and as a promise of solutions to absolutely all of life's (and death's) problems, advaita is a vast labyrinth of ideas which - when pursued both in theory and 'spiritual practice' - all prove to be dead ends, philosophically speaking. Unfortunately, it is becoming more and more popular through Internet sites promoting it in every possible variant. In order to show up its failings in a succinct article, I have posted the following:-
