Just looking to hang with like minded free thinking ( very heavy on the thinking ) Folks.
Grew up in a godless household in rural America, surrounded by plenty of theists.
Mom's mom was a batshit crazy fire insurance buying switch denominations for more nutty ones theist, and mom vowed to break that chain. Yay mom!
Welcome, Kelly. Nice to have you with us. You'll find a great variety of topics under discussion here and lots of thoughtful folks.I'd write more, but Lawrence Krauss's new book just showed up from Amazon, and I can't wait to crack it open.

I was an instant convert when I first saw his crack that "Now that we've found evidence of Higg's boson, we can't call it the God particle any more.
I thought Lawrence Krauss is Foundation Professor of the School of Earth and Space Exploration, Arizona State University and is director of its Origins Project. Does he spend part of his time in Portland, OR?
There are many of you who live in the Portland/Longview area, if Krauss comes on the book selling event, a meetpup with Atheist Nexus would be fun. I wish I could join!

Head's up everybody, ProgrammingGodJordan will be a fun, short show:)
I too am new. I've discogvered during my short period here that the members are very nice. That it's also a safe haven from theist trolls is also comforting.
Yesterday I discovered there is a chat room here. I enjoyed conversing with a few members. I recommend you try it.
Like the others I hope your membership is enjoyable for you.
Yours, Banjo (Dale).
