My name is Tyler. I am glad I found this site. It seems to be a fairly active forum. I look forward to gaining some insight from some fellow non-believers.
I grew up in a secular household by two parents who were raised Lutheran. I became curious around age ten and started attending a small non-denominational church. Great people, great time. I lost track of it all when I discovered girls (Hey, it happens). I picked it up again when I was in the Army and it was "encouraged". I really tried believing. I thought I was "saved" and all that jazz.
However, after a tour in Iraq in 2003, I quickly realized that there must not be a God. Even if there was, religion is a bunch of nonsense. I slowly withdrew myself from religion and did many years of self-searching.
My wife was raised Roman-Catholic, but never really practiced. We agreed to not raise our daughter in a religious setting, whatsoever. Luckily, our families are pretty cool with it.
Anyway, I'm trying to keep this short since I only have a few minutes. I just wanted to jump on here and say hello.
Feel free to ask me anything. I'm sure I'll be asking you guys a lot of things.
