I live in a small village - not overly religious, but with a high population of conservative retired people.
While I was at the local store last week I decided to pin up a rather large and lurid advertising flyer about the
Rise of Atheism Global Atheist Convention to be held in Melbourne in March next year, on the community noticeboard.
I didn't have high hopes for its survival. I was certain some well-meaning Christian would see fit to remove it to protect our fellow villagers from temptation.
To be honest, I'd forgotten about it until today - some five days later - when I went to the store and saw it was still there! I was gobsmacked!
Either our village has the most tolerant Christians in Christendom or I'm not the only atheist in the village! ;-)
