20 light years is not that far. My question is how long does it take for radio and TV waves to make it that far?

Has Seti turned some of its Stalites toward this Planet?

"In October 2008, members of the networking website Bebo beamed A Message From Earth, a high-power transmission at Gliese 581 c, using the RT-70 radio telescope belonging to the National Space Agency of Ukraine. This transmission is due to arrive in the Gliese 581 system's vicinity by the year 2029; the earliest possible arrival for a response, should there be one, would be in 2049."
So our first question to another life form on another planet will be "what are you doing right now?"
They may reply watching Star trek? or we really enjoy Jimmy jones and the 700 club.
Or they might say you people are not worth our time. We've been watching you for years but that religios shit you believe means that you are not ready to join the Galactic Empire!!!
Well that answers that question. about 20 years.

So if there is intelligent life there they would probably have already gotten some radio transmissions from earth. and we also probably would have heard stuff from them.
