Newt Gingrich: USA may be taken over by secular atheist muslims.

cbsnews and politico
"Likely Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich has regularly been warning that Democrats are trying to impose a "secular-socialist" agenda on the country, in part because of a "relentless anti-religious bias."

"I have two grandchildren -- Maggie is 11, Robert is 9. I am convinced that if we do not decisively win the struggle over the nature of America, by the time they're my age they will be in a secular atheist country, potentially one dominated by radical Islamists and with no understanding of what it once meant to be an American."

Most likely, they will be radical islamist married gay lesbian socialist secular atheist muslims who were born somewhere else.

Of course, with the US under atheist sharia law, Mr. Gingrich would be stoned to death for serial adultery.

He either doesn't know what an atheist is or he doesn't know what a Muslim is.  Can't tell.
I think he's just trying to string together people who are acceptable to scapegoat, even if it doesn't make sense.  If he thought it was still acceptable to be openly antisemitic, he would say "radical atheist jewish islamists".  And his audience would still nod their heads in approval and say "that's right!"
I think it's funny that he is the "pro-science" Republican candidate...lol
If he's pro science then Im Popeye.

I'm afraid to ask Mr G what he thinks a "real" American is.  Let me take a guess: Somebody that looks and thinks just like he does.

I don't think he is a likable candidate....plain and simple.  He doesn't come across well on television in interviews. He has pushed away members of his own campaign team so that gives the impression that he doesn't play well with others.   The 'my way or the highway' approach.

And here is a section from his website that should make progressives and supporters of reproductive freedom nervous:

http://www.newt.org/solutions/protecting-life-and-religious-liberty

But, then again, he has embraced Catholicism with a passion only matched by his passion for American Exceptionalism.  And his distaste for 'radical secularists' seems to be a new twist, as if freethinkers haven't always historically been part of the landscape.  Supporters of secular government are far from radical... I would call his ideas as listed above pretty far right in the spectrum!

Does anybody else find it odd that his campaign gear says "NEWT 2012".  I wonder why he went with his first name like that?  Short and sweet...well, I wouldn't say sweet...I find it odd.

First off, I though America was supposed to be a country of religious freedom?  Second, if we were a "secular atheist country" I doubt the government would "allow" any religion.  That's the whole fucking point.  Government isn't supposed to have any dealings with religion, so that they can't infringe upon it.  I seriously doubt there is any big push to not allow people to practice their religion.  Third, I seriously doubt Mr. Gingrich has any idea what it's like to be a real American.

I agree...religious liberty means the liberty to not even belong to a religious organization or submit to religious doctrines.  Freedom FROM religion is intertwined in the mix. I find it very interesting that a man like Mr. G wouldn't understand how vital pluralism and secularism are to this nation's existence.  Catholicism may give Mr. G the false sense that his religion is the only TRUE religion or that the Judeo-Christian traditions are the only IMPORTANT traditions, but I completely disagree with his worldview.  He gets all misty eyed about 'our glory days' as a 'Christian Nation'...completely overlooking the importance of separation of Church and State.
Newt is no longer (and I don't think ever was) a viable candidate.
Yes, the US will be taken over by radical, communist, facist, tax and spend, secular atheist Muslims who want to take away your right to pray, take away your guns, increase your taxes, and kill every unborn child.
