i can't say i'm uber excited, but it's been so long since i've seen a genuine "debate" between a creationist and a normal person it'll be worth a watch.  i think Hamm is either sick in the head or a huckster, so it will be interesting to see just how much Nye can humiliate him.

It always has been, Matthew.  These people want their own facts and their own reality.  The problem is that what they want is at odds with what IS ... and eventually, that's going to bite them on the ass.

Nye is engaging not as a scientist but as "a reasonable man". Since he's determined to debate all I can say is good luck. I'd feel better if we could get someone who is a scientist onstage. I hope he's planning on introducing some science to the debate and has the ability to present and defend it.

Maybe I'm making too much of this debate. After all, what qualifications does Hamm bring and why should we respect his opinion?
