Enforcing 'rights' that are not individual penalizes productivity, rewards need and creates necessarily corrupt politicians and lobbyists, for to support the nonproductive, by force, you must unilaterally take property from somewhere else. You are the aggressor. It is completely immoral and irrational. This is because of the nature of mind and personhood. Moral choices are always made by individuals and it is immoral to take that right from someone by force. It cannot result in good, no matter what your intention. Haven't you ever heard of the nonaggression principle?
I give up. You just don't get it. "There is no too powerful" is a statement I cannot suppport. Some people in USA have more rights than others and more opportunities. Work hard, be faithful, dependable, reliable, conscientious, honest, thrifty, self-motivated, able to take on responsibilities beyond one's pay grade, take every opportunity for self-improvement and still can't get on the ladder to success. Unexpected events, an illness, accident, unplanned pregnancy, unexpected dependency of aging parents or a failed marriage can present challenges beyond one's ability to overcome. With rising costs of education, some children do not have opportunities that some others have.
I hear you blaming people for being poor and celebrating people for being rich, when in fact, the rich did not achieve all they have alone. Banks and financial institutions have a fiduciary responsibility to keep money in the system flowing among all those who participate in production of goods and services. When banks and financial institutions pay each other huge salaries, give big bonuses, and don't put the money back in circulation, then how can our nation thrive? Money in circulation is what builds community. The straws through which money'd people suck dollars out of the economy will dry up one of these days. They can't keep sucking the workers dry and expect the community to succeed.
In the end and at the beginning, you will remain the aggressor. Not only is wealth distribution immoral, it leads to tyranny.
I am not talking about "wealth distribution" I am taking about paying people a fair wage for a product or service. If you had $100,000,000 in the bank would you willingly pay a living wage to your cook, cleaner, gardener, baby sitter, care givers for your elderly parents, garbage collectors, doctors and nurses, teachers, and all those others who provide you with goods and services that you can't or won't provide for yourself?
No matter how much money I have, I will purchase values with highest benefit to cost ratio, to me. If I need a certain level of competence, then I will pay as little as I can without sacrificing quality. If someone has a skill and I want to purchase their labor, then I must negotiate the wage. If they want more than I am willing to pay, I will look elsewhere. If I cannot find someone and still want the labor, I must increase the wage. No one can morally force me to pay more or less. And no one can morally force the skilled laborer to work for a certain wage. This is economics 101. That hard work, pain and failure are necessarily a part of nature, does not give you the right to force me to pay more than I want or more than the work is worth. The free market sets prices and wages.
A minimum wage makes it harder for those at the lowest rungs in the economic ladder to find work and forces employers to fire people they don't want to pay that much. When the government encroaches on the economy, it eventually goes bad. For the government to make some perceived beneficial change, it must actually make another non-beneficial one.
Socialism and all its aspects is moral bankrupt. The people who are selling you this crap are the clueless and the ones in power. It is a roose to keep power from the individual to those in government. And you are supporting them, partly with my money. We don't need government for anything but the monopolization of retaliatory force. If you wish to help people who cannot or wil not make it on their own, great. Institutionalizing violence to get done what group causes you think are important is down right childish bullying.
