Tariq Ali: Global revolt against corporate capitalism & inequality.
In the first episode of ‘On Contact’, host Chris Hedges discusses the global revolt against corporate capitalism with radical intellectual and author Tariq Ali. Ali talks about how the world banking system pitched Greece and other European countries into financial difficulties, and how big business may be behind the impeachment of Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff. RT Correspondent Anya Parampil joins the show with a report on global inequality.

Chris Hedges first came to my attention with his book,
War Is a Force that Gives Us Meaning Publisher – 2002. "The rush of battle is a potent and often lethal addiction, for war is a drug, one I ingested for many years." ~Chris Hedged 2002 War is a force that gives live meaning. pg. 3
I was an opponent of the Vietnam war in spite of the fact that my then husband was a battlefield head and neck surgeon serving as close to the front lines as they could take a hospital. I read everything I could find about Vietnam, its history, culture, and politics, and colonialism. It was a life-changing period in my life. It changed the way I read the news, the notion of human rights, and ways of looking at the intent and purpose of U.S. wars.
