For those of us who don't watch christian TV, Paul Crouch might not ring any bells.
He was one of the richest, most successful brodcasters in christianity. Probably one of the 0.1%, not just the 1%. He made his money by pleading to gullible listeners and viewers, who willingly sent / send in their dollars.
From the linked article - "TBN has "84 satellite channels and more than 18,000 television and cable affiliates as well as a Christian amusement park in Orlando."
Paul and Janice Crouch turned fleecing the flock into an empire of mansions, private jets, and an assortment of moneymaking enterprises. Last year, the New York Times reported that they "have his-and-her mansions one street apart in a gated community [in Newport Beach], provided by the network using viewer donations and tax-free earnings. But Mrs. Crouch, ... rarely sleeps in the $5.6 million house with tennis court and pool. She mostly lives in a large company house near Orlando, Fla., where she runs a side business, the Holy Land Experience theme park." Her husband had "an adjacent home there too, but rarely visits. Its occupant is often a security guard who doubles as Mrs. Crouch's chauffeur."
It's considered bad taste to speak ill of the dead. He was widely rumored to be an antigay homosexual. I don't care what he was - the best thing now would be to compost his corpse and use it to feed tomatoes. Then his existence would have done at least some good in the world.
One less parasite ... :-P~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They are like dandelions. One is gone, but many others will germinate.
A look back at Paul Crouch.
What a pathetic family. An air conditioned mobile home for their dogs... Jesus F. Christ.
When I was a kid in catholic school I was taught the “Mysteries of the Church” like transubstantiation. Now the only mystery worth thinking about is: How the heck can people be so stupid?
Imagine giving your money to these con-persons and then seeing them flying around on a 60-million dollar jet. I myself would get drunk for a week and I’d probably get less sick.
As an ex catholic myself, I finally figured out why they have so many mysteries. Things that don't make sense and they can't come up with a plausible explanation, they deem a "mystery"! like the mystery of the Trinity or the mystery of faith, etc. Most of them other Xians will even say they pulled out of thin air!
Yes, I'm sure his Jesus wanted them to be fabulously wealthy, taking money from poor and gullible people.
I'm glad he's dead. Too bad his wife and kids haven't seen the light and given it all to homeless shelters.
So, ole' Paul Crouch is now a root inspector. I'm reminded of a joke by the famous comedian, Moms Mabley. The only way you should speak of the dead is by saying something good.
He's dead. Good!
Moms Mabley said that right!
Indeed she did!
