Stephen Hawking: 'There is no heaven; it's a fairy story'

"I regard the brain as a computer which will stop working when its components fail. There is no heaven or afterlife for broken down computers; that is a fairy story for people afraid of the dark."

I think that it cannot help but to at least slightly help when more and more respected people dare to come out as opposing theism as fairy tales just as Dawkins is doing. I donot intend on totaly dismissing to value of acomadationists (as I imagine they do have their place, use and value).

As I understand it tho, acomodationists big issue is that aggressive atheists are wrong in making a tactical error in off putting fence sitters when we "militants" fail to show theism the respect that theists have come to expect it deserves.

I on the other hand think that actions such as this one by Mr. Hawking are maybe the best thing that we can hope for.

Three cheers for Steven Hawking.
