I didn't plan to write about the Westboro Baptists so soon again but it's my town the bastards are visiting!

God hates Los Angeles. At least the Westboro Baptist Church seems to think so. Only one day after carrying their "God hates fags" signs to Elizabeth Edwards' funeral in North Carolina (Dec. 11), the fundamentalist Christians of the WBC are in L.A. for a little Sunday-style protesting downtown outside the Pico Playhouse. The Playhouse's own Mechanicals Theater Group is putting on a production of The Laramie Project, a play about the aftermath of the 1998 murder of gay college student Matthew Shepard in Laramie, Wyoming.
Here's a little bit of what the WBC is saying:
God Hates Fags! God Hates Fag-Enablers! Ergo, God hates fag-infested & fag-enabling Los Angeles, CA and all having to do with spreading sodomite lies via The Laramie Project; a tacky piece of cheap, lying, fag propaganda masquerading as legitimate theater.

One of my friends went to counter-protest, and reports they never showed up.

There was a high school in my area that was performing a play about the murder of a homosexual and the WBC said they were going to come and protest. I was at a fairly sized counter-protest, Congresswoman Jackie Spier even showed up, but they never appeared.

I'm guessing they're just trolling at this point.

They may have been too busy looking like idiots at Elizabeth Edwards' funeral.

They had at least 6 other protests scheduled in Kansas the same day. Maybe they just ran low on zealots.

What's wrong with America? Used to be, the likes of the Phelps family would be tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail, and a good time would be had by all (except the Phelps family).

Where would they go? No one likes them enough to take them, so they're stuck in Westboro. I think they should head into the hills, just not the hills I live in haha.
Westboro Baptist Church protested a military funeral in Mcalister Oklahoma a couple of months ago. They were met by about over 2000 bikers. Its no surprise the WBC protestors car got two flats. Made the news all over here in Oklahoma. One tire shop would not sell them tires.
I was just thinking that Phelps and his small clutch of loons gets more coverage on A/N than Dawkins gets.  Most of his threatened "protests" never occur - just his insane spew.

yeah in Fort Liqourdale too.. lemme see the date/time...

satuday 630. in da hood yo!
