Inspired by Roxi Atomic's discussion, "What are your pet peeves?"

I thought this needed a more positive word than "unpeeve".

Watching a particularly colourful sunrise over the mountains.

The first ripe tomato of the season.

Being understood without having to go into a long discussion of personal history, societal issues, world view, etc...

Seeing the first hummingbird of the season.

Meeting someone who it seems like you've known forever.

Intellectual stimulation.

Clever turns of phrase.

Being able to extrapolate.

Having a place like Atheist Nexus where I can hobnob with fellow non-theists.

lmao at your last sentence. :)
By performing every task without any opinion or judgement I seem to manage a balanced contentment

Yes, this makes sense, Zen Master Q.
I think if I could carry a fully automatic weapon I'd be ecstatic.

I'm pretty sure this is legal in some parts of the US.
I love it when someone has thought about something I've said or done and has built upon it even more.

When someone is curious about someone else.

Creative ideas.

Golden rays of sun on a cluster of clouds in a blue sky

Seeing happy dogs running around, or cats blinking their eyes in contentment.

Seeing people deal with unpleasant folks in a good-natured way without taking the bait

Seeing great advances in accessibility, like TuneWiki's apps,'s captioned programs, Google's automatic captioning (in beta), and's videos with lyrics (in the Whatcha Say section).

Seeing positive topics like this one!
When my pets greet me...

When I remember what a unique experience being a living thing is...

Looking at pictures of nebulae and galaxies...

Thinking about all of the good things I have in life...

And oddly enough (for me) smiling babies...
Purring -Yes!
Night diving.
Cycling - especially with no hands.
Delicious food with friends,
actual conversation,
having a laugh,
being Dorky with the people who know me best!
Challenging myself & learning new stuff!
going through life with my dog next to me (yes, he is with me just about every moment of every day)

the ravens doing their sunset "flight dance"

English tea

Marmite on toast

peaceful happy animals

San Francisco fog

a long hot bath in a big comfortable bathtub

feeding my neighbour's goats

being a vegetarian

watching the sea...
A misty winter morning.

Giraffes and zebras.

Coffee with like minded friends.
cigarettes with like minded friends
coffee and cigarettes at an outdoor cafe with like minded friends.
cold nights with star filled skys with my son.
going to shows with my kids
ridin i my stripped down jeep at dusk in the summer
getting messages from Grundgetta (o what a suck up I am)
hours on the Nexus!
I thought I heard the sound of suction.
A 600+ gram T-Bone steak with Bearnaise sauce and baked potatoes and an excellent red wine, the look on my girlfriend's face on a Sunday morning when she just woke up, a heated debate among friends without anyone being offended, single malt whiskey, gazing at stars, a forest in summer full of noise and smell, a deserted beach just before sunset, Friday afternoon, playing the guitar pretending to be a rock god, any book from Terry Pratchett, holidays, Ben & Jerry "Cookie Dough", getting drunk with a friend that you haven't seen for a while, memories of my childhood, a baby playing with food, being inappropriately honest with people that you haven't met before, dark chocolate, a cold La Chouffe (the best Belgian beer), love, lust, smoking a big joint on a Friday evening.

Almost anything can make me happy, given the right circumstances, I guess.
I vote for that tomato. A tomato bed with sever big juicy fruits makes me even happier.

Meeting local Atheist Nexers at Hayden Island last month made me very happpy.

Mt dog Charlie sitting next to me when I'm working on homework.

Having someone say "thank you, you did a good thing"

Feeding dandelions to the hens and whatching them fight over them. Giving fresh eggs to my coworkers.

A shared shower.
