My elderly cat was feeling poorly, throwing up daily and getting skinny. After some research I took him off food with grain and it fixed him immediately. He hasn't been sick once and is gaining weight.
Why do they make that stuff? Because it's cheap probably. I did not know that cats are not supposed to have grain and most people must not know it either because most of the food includes it. It seems rice and oats are okay? I always thought of them as grain. Now I know why there is a raw food forum discussion in this group. The only downside is that it might be more expensive to feed without grain. Who knew cats were supposed to be gluten free? All these years.
Anyone have any opinions or experience on this?

@Steph S.

O, fangkew!  So far, today is a puzzler.  I have two kittehs who would rather eat people food...I've been opening cans, and they just kept giving me "the look."  Or they attempt to cover up the food.  I'd be happy to share my ICHC Cheezburger Quiche with them, but it has onions in it.  Poy-ZUN!

The other puzzler is that today is the first day of school here.  Aug. 15???!  My nerves!  When I was a kid, school started after Labor Day.  This just seems SO wrong for some reason.  As though part of the kids' summer is being stolen.

Heh! Now switch your ears to an Australian accent (G'die).

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/04/26/gay-dog-refused-entry-to_n...

An Australian restaurant has been forced to apologize and pay compensation after refusing to let a blind man enter because they thought his dog was gay.

In May 2009, Ian Jolly, 57, was attempting to dine at the Thai Spice restaurant in Adelaide, when he was refused entry after staff misheard his female companion, and thought his "guide dog" was a "gay dog."

"The staff genuinely believed that Nudge was an ordinary pet dog which had been desexed to become a gay dog," the owners said in a statement to South Australia's Equal Opportuni...

Jolly is now set to receive a written apology and $1,400 compensation.

However, Jolly said that the situation had made him embarrassed about going to restaurants.

"I just want to be like everybody else and be able to go out for dinner, to be left alone and just enjoy a meal," he told Australian press.

None of the news articles I read bothered to explain that an Australian's pronunciation of "guide" might sound a little bit like "gay."

Although I don't see why it should matter...and I feel very sorry for Mr. Jolly's humiliation.  What I don't understand is why the restaurant employee didn't recognize the special harness that guide dogs wear.  I mean, that is beyond ignorant.

As for my weekend...pleh.  The neighbors are having a pool party, with children bellowing and shrieking for the past 6 hours.  Did we make that kind of noise when we went swimming as kids?

I took a couple more pics of Sweet Jerry.  I'll post them in my Profile later.  When my ears stop ringing.

@Pixy Giggles

I don't know if that was an actual Freudian slip, dyslexia, or just because I never really learned how to type.  But it is wonderfully apt...and silly.
