Timmy looked great! And I'm glad you put his well-being first!

Comment by Robert Lanktree on March 7, 2016 at 4:50am

I'm afraid Timmy died last March, at home with his family. Our daughter was advised to come see him that night (she originally found him at a shelter and we kept him after she left home) while she could. She spent some time with him on his last night, Timmy died while she was on her way home. Rough night and upsets me every time I recall it. I could not justify putting him through additional circumstances that would have made it harder on him at a clinic or whatever.

Thanks! It was a hard decision, and once that was over we realized how stressed we were ourselves. So we took time off to make ourselves and Dido calm and comfortable, and a few days later Dido began to gain a little weight. We keep him on low-fat food to avoid stomach trouble. He still looks horrible, but he indicates that he feels much better, even if he's weak from loss of muscle tissue.

What happened to Timmy and is he still among the living?

I am feeling your pain, we had the same a year ago almost to the day with our Timmy. He was so desperately opposed to travel and unusual sensory input that we decided to keep him comfortable at home. He had been misdiagnosed as well. I really hope your kitty sees this through.

Two false cures now, and no diagnosis. The vet wants me to go to a specialist for the right diagnosis and cure, but I've refused.

It would mean that I would have to take Dido by train to another town, possibly a number of times. I won't do that to him, he's weak and nervous enough as it is now.

It would also mean that the financial drain would become too much for this household, and we wouldn't be certain of a cure.

So we decided two days ago to do nothing apart from good food and a quiet atmosphere, and wait and see what nature can do.

Great news, Chris!

Dido made the comeback! Last Friday he had an echo and the vet thought there could be an infection in the liver, even if it didn´t show in the bloodsample. So antibiotics and chicken, and the change started right away. It will take him some time to get at his old weight but the celebrations are in full swing!
