Edison was thief, a cheat and a few more choice metaphorical bad examples. That I didn't care to watch the video...again. I know about him, and I likely only know the tip of the iceberg. What he did to Georges Melies with his film 'A Trip To The Moon' makes me sick.

I watched the video, but it's not something any of us would want to see. Why is it so hard for some people to understand that the first thing us animals have in common is that we can all suffer!

We have plenty of wildlife here & many meander through our yards. The only capturing we do is with a camera photo. We do not befriend, offer food or talk. We watch!

Wildlife belongs in the wild, & its us doing the encroaching so we need to respect their territories.

As for our grandkids, we aren't close, but we've only ever touched them when it was for a hug.

I won't watch that video, Chris.

There was a guy I worked with who sounded proud that he hit his grandchildren.  I attempted to explain to him that if he was ablet to talk with them they may behave more to his liking.

He was upside down and backwrd in his thinking.

"Spare the Rod, Spoil the child" was his reasoning for corprial punishment.

I attempted to explain the saying "Spare the rod, spoil the child" meant that one should spare the rod and spoil the child.

It's goofy how some people can be.

I feel sorry for his grankids.

His grandkids may be mean and abusive to others because that's what they were taught.

My first week at work he threw another new employee out of a chair because, he said "That's may chair"  as the rest of us looked on in disbelief.  The supervisor did nothing.

Unbelievable isn't it?

I enjoy watching deer, birds, and little critters from my bedroom window as they meander over the meadow, eating plants, seeds and drinking water at the bird feeding station. I would no more capture them and put them in cages as I would my great-grandchildren.

On Thomas Edison.

There is a a lot of myth about him. The movie you may have seen about Thomas Edicon with Micky Rooney is inaccurate. Edison was a cruel jerk. Using the Electric Chair is one example of how he showed AC was more dangerous than DC.

He also screwewed  Tesla out of his patents in his war with Westinghouse.

An elephant who some jerk gave him a lit cigarette lashed out.

The fllowing video shows what Thomas Edison did (in part to show how dangerous AC voltage was).   _  Warning this is graphic.

Isn't that neat Patricia?

There is something fundamentally wrong with a lion cub to be sold.

Some of that has improved.

I happened across private zoos.

A friend of mine tells me that his friend has some kind of miniture monkey primate as a 'pet.'

I don't think birds should be caged and kept as "pets"

Making friends with wildlife may be okay, though taming them results in loss of fear of humans where they may be subject to  curelty.

I'm glad  Barnum and Bailies ( Ringling Brothers) Circus finally stopped exhibiting Elephants and Lions.

The clowns they exhibit are creepy enough.

Yes, I've seen that a few times.
