I have a large ($100) antenna and a rotator, so I get quite a few channels.  Even when I lived in a town surrounded by mountains, there was a valley between me and several stations up to 100 miles away that I could pick-up.

Spud, we are almost forced to use cable...there's a range of short mountains (or tall hills) between our neighborhood and all the Los Angeles TV transmitters atop Mt. Wilson.  We had "snow" or worse on every channel except 2 and 4 when the only way to receive TV was with a tall antenna on the roof.

Channel 4 was here in Burp-bank, so we got their signal directly from the studio...I don't know what kind of reception we'd get now that they have moved to Universal Hollywood.

Amusing and interesting picture of Morris.

Morris sure is a handsome one.

Morris is a sofa surfer!  WHAT a clever cat!

When I said sometime back that my cat Morris was a practiced and expert flopper, I wasn't kidding.  As evidence, may I direct you to Exhibit A:

I should mention ... that's Garfield behind him!

I've always used an antenna.  Never had cable or satellite TV.  Just too expensive.

And, I don't watch any sports.

Beats the crap out of the Stupid Bowl:

Comment by sk8eycat on February 1, 2015 at 11:10pm

I wanted SO much to see Kitten Bowl II today, but our sleazy cable company (Charter), for which we pay/waste $70 a month (for "expanded basic"), does not carry the Hallmark Channel.

BOOOOO!

We are seriously considering getting rid of them and going back to using an antenna.  What my sister watches is 90% broadcast channels, anyway.  Cable TV sux rocks!

Dear Kitten is one of the very few commercials that I like to watch. Funny instead of irritating or maddening like most commercials.
