Aww! That's so sweet, booklover. Thanks for sharing it.

What needy-sounding kitties, Patricia. Ours expect us to go out most days, and seem secure when we return. They do greet us, but casually.

I love the cat welcome video, Felaine, and your story of Dido, Chris! Cats have body, mind, and emotion, no doubt about it.

Cats don't slobber and make a big noise, but they always welcome us. Dido warns me every time my partner comes home: he - Dido - stops what he was doing or comes out of a deep sleep and races down the stairs to our front door for a greeting.

I didn't think that dogs deserved ALL the credit for enthusiastically welcoming their people home!

Spice was beautiful, Joan! I'm glad that you have such happy memories of her!

Purr-Dee is adorable. Looks like a back-sleeper like my Dido. But how can you live with a dark cat and that beautiful white rug? Dido & Luna decided to moult this month.... luckily I haven't got rugs, but the clumps of cat-hair are dancing down the stairs. Cat-hair is in the most unlikely places: in the scanner and in the white bra I bought last week - it's already impossible to get the cat-hair out of it. O well, I often wear black.

Loren, how about "naw, he won't get mad at me, he's a pussycat."

Joan, what a lovely remembrance for a dear kitty!

I've actually seen a church named after her (and after many of our fine furry friends) -- even though the churchgoers probably don't know that:

Queen of the Universe church
