Mindy, the cat that doesn't like tissue sticking to his teeth made me laugh.

Grinning Cat, that cat is amazing! I hope Kitty doesn't teach the other occupants the trick.

Omce had a cat that made a funny noise when he was going to throw up. It was a nice warning, but whenever we tried to put newspaper in front of him so he would throw up on that instead he would just keep turning away to throw up on the carpet.

Thanks Joan, that is what I try. I made it easy for us; there are no rugs in this apartment, and no wallpaper, just painted walls. I always giggle when Dido comes running down the stairs and bounces two times against the walls - his footprints are at a height of a metre. I wash the walls now and then or put some paint on the spots.

The best way to clean up pet "accidents" from carpets and other fabrics, is to pick up as much as you can wit paper towels, and then soak the ares with club soda.  The "fizz" will bring up more dirt, and you can blot that up with more paper towels.  And it neutralizes the acids, and the scent.

There are also products like Nature's Miracle, but club soda is less expensive.

Chris, I like you "throw-up" rug. Might as well go along with the reality without getting upset.

Yes, I remember cleaning many spots off rugs. I guess that is one reason I don't want a pet.

However, I do enjoy Dominic, the black lab mix, and their Persian cat when I visit Laura's family,

and Spaz, the Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix and Bengal cat at my granddaughter's.

Mindy, enjoy your Coulter cartoon!

Every cat we've ever had (and that's a multitude) has chosen a rug or a bedspread to up-chuck on.  A vet that I knew (and loved) long ago told me they can empty their stomachs at will.  If they eat something, and decide they don't like the taste...whoops!

My diabetic dad used to give one of our cats a teaspoon of his sugar-free ice cream.   Kipps would lap it up, run into the living room, and deposit it on the carpet.  Made Mother SO angry.

(Kipps was named by a friend who had a crush on British musical actor Tommy Steele. Didn't look a bit like him.)

So it's a throw-up-rug.
