Grinning Cat, wonderful photos.

Thanks to The Flying Atheist for sharing a collection of striking pet furniture designs, including a cat-tunnel sofa many of you might have seen, in Hang With Friends.

It reminded me of Bob Walker and Frances Mooney's amazing feline wonderland of ramps, walkways, and secret rooms, The Cats' House in San Diego (doubling as a brightly colored home for the humans as well). Apparently they moved to Virginia last summer, where they hoped to build "a bigger, better, longer, stronger, and more artistic catwalk".

(More pics at

(As I was looking for the website, I also found a more sedately colored but still playful and amazing "Cats' House" designed by a Japanese architecture firm: )

Poor Lucy and DALE.  But it's funny that Dale checks your hands for a brush!

It's been probably 40 years or more. :(

I found a beautiful silver-gray cat at the animal shelter about a year & a half ago, and wanted it.

But after thinking about it, I knew I would worry about it's health and happiness too much, and figured the cost to properly take care of it would be about $500 a year.  Just too much for my limited income. :(

OMNerves, Spud!  You needz a kitteh!  How long has it been?  I think the longest I've been cat-less was 2 years, and I hated every minute.  {{{{{Spud}}}}

I should talk.  In my avatar, I look rather serious, and Mr. Cat looks intense or regal.  I guess it's been so long since I had a cat that I've forgotten their natural look.

On second look, I guess "mean" is too much.  Intimidating is more like it, especially those eyes.  To me, the look doesn't say "lets cuddle". : )

I don't think Dora looks "mean," I think she looks a Grand Dame.  Just sayin'

Mindy, Dora's silver-gray fur is beautiful.  One of my favorite colors.  But she does look mean.  Is that her mean look or just her normal look?

A real beauty, Booklover!

Both my shorthairs love brushing! I only have to get the brush and they come running, pushing and bickering about who was first and who gets brushed first. Luna usually wins - Dido is heavier and stronger but there's no agression in him, he'll never stand up for himself.
