Instead of a cross-bike for winter, try one of these.  Shouldn't be able to ride over anything you will encounter!

My problem is I am always cold when riding with temps below 60.  Add to that, I sweat a lot, regardless of temp.  I was cold from the start yesterday and sweating most of the time.  I can't put on more clothes because thne they get soaked and I get colder.  Fewer clothes and I never sufficiently warm up enough to ride.  I'va played with lots and lots layer combinations and haven't found better than what I have now.  Assos tights, similar jersey top, undershirt, warm gloves, thick covers over my shoes, light layer under my helmet.

I dress in layers for my winter cycling -- it is harder to keep warm -- but it works!

Got out today for a 30 mile ride.  Temps in the low 40's.  Can't wait for winter to be over!

Sounds awesome Scott! I went hiking this weekend. It was great fun! The weather here was close to 70 and sunny. Just a beautiful weekend.

Warmer here today but the roads are still nasty from the recent snow and the wind a gusting 30-40+.  Tomorrow will either go x-country skiing or ride the traininer.

Can't wait for summer!

Weather is nice today -- sunny and highs are 68 -- so I'm going to go cycling. So nice to be able to get back outside again.

Awesome Scott! I went cycling yesterday -- the weather was nice and sunny -- a little chilly -- will be cycling again today.

I use them at home.  The spin classes I have been to are always led by someone.  When Kevin Livingston (US Postal with L Armstrong) retired and moved back to Austin he breifly led a spin class at Dell and probably a few other places.  Listing to his stories about pro racing made going a lot of fun.  I think that was 2001 or 2002.

Nice! Those DVD's sound great. Do you use them while spinning at home or at the gym?
