Welcome to Atheist Do-Gooders!

This is a group for those interested in helping others.

If you or someone you know needs help, post here and the hope is that one or more of our members will be able to help or at least offer advice and emotional support.

We hope to foster a sense of community and family.

When we grow up (i.e. get more members) I hope we can organize efforts to provide "real" help (as opposed to online help) such as fixing up the house of an elderly person or even helping with disaster relief.

We can't do anything without members :-) so please sign up.

Leilani: my wife's cousin is going to be participating in this as a polar bear - in Illinois. Thanks for posting that info!

The Indiana Special Olympics are having fund raisers this month throughout Indiana. They are holding Polar Plunges! I missed the one in my city, so I am hoping to get out to another one. I know not everyone lives in Indiana, but I figured I'd share anyways. :)
Cities and dates as follows:
Feb. 13th - Ft. Wayne, Terre Haute, Versailles.
Feb. 20th - Boonville, Borden, Kokomo, Merrillville, West Lafayette
Feb. 27th - Indianapolis

Go to to sign up. :)

I know other states hold Special Olympics, I volunteered in the Southern California Special Olympics and it's very rewarding. :)

Much love!

You're welcome. I'll have to remember about different browsers and how they read various sites . Good thing I'm not working at a help desk somewhere.

Hi Grundgetta, this is done now. For some reason the "Edit" button only shows up for me when using IE, not firefox and Opera. I had tried before with firefox/Opera without success but today I tried using IE and then got it to work. Thanks for your help!

Hey Lou,

Where it says "Discussion Forum", you should see a box on the blue bar entitled "Edit". Click on that.

Three drop-down boxes should appear. The third is entitled Show X items. You can click on that, and it will drop down, showing up to 20. I usually set it at 20 in my groups.

To the lower right, about where it says "View All" in a non-administrative view, there should be a blue "Save" box . Click on that, and the discussion forum should reset itself to show up to 20 conversations.

Hopefully I didn't skip any steps, and this will work.

Hi Grundgetta, I tried but wasn't able to find a way to change the number of discussions that are visible. If anyone knows how to do that please let me know. Thanks.

proudmumma, that's one of the reasons I joined Atheist Nexus. Brother Richard, who is the site administrator, and many of the folks who are active on the site are interested in secular community.

Buford, would you please change the settings on the discussion forum so that more than three discussions are showing?
