This is the place to post that hilarious irreligious YouTube video, an irreverent, anti-religious cartoon, or other humorous bit of media. Posts that do not reflect an atheist/irreligious theme will be deleted. (Don't make me go Old Testament.)

A slightly longer version of the clip that used to be here.

Mutt:

That is so good.  There is a scripture about jesus riding into town on an ass.  This must be it.

Why don't I remember this one making it on the news or for sale on ebay?

One evening whilst covering the front desk at a nice Santa Monica hotel, a crazy woman came in and lied to me, stating that she had just had a conversation with god, and he had told her that if she came in to see me I would have a room for her for the night at no charge.

I told her that she was lying, because I had just had a conversation with god, and she (god) had told me that some woman would come in to tell me lies.  The crazy lying lady threw up her hands, yelled "Ohhhhhhh!", turned to the door, and stomped out.

I fight crazy with crazy.

Forget the normal part of our brain function.  What about the schizophrenics?  They don't just have the little voices nagging them in the back of their mind.  They have full on hallucinations, sometimes, including ... burning bushes which are not consumed by the flame ... angels ...

Curious – I wonder about a response that doesn’t express hate or anger, but does serve to express the non reality of their statement.

Response: “Well that’s if you’re talking about God in the sense of the bicameral mind – pre our modern understanding of the voices in our head being actually a normal part of our human brain function!”

I do not think of religious people as "insane" - they are working off their feeling brain which is primal and even intelligent & productive people do this. Using reason is something that's learned and that many people have to work at very hard to use it at all, especially when they're not born into a family that uses reason (probably the majority).

I don't know how a business person could be in a place to never deal with this - the general public is not that intelligent. You would have to isolate yourself to a select clientele. That's kind of segregationist. Are you sure that's how you'd like to be? Or could you take the higher road and deal with it by thinking, "those poor ignorant people" and letting go of the anxiety it causes you?

That's when you say, "Hold on...God just spoke to me and said I must give you the apartment on the top floor and to double the application fee."
