This is the place to post that hilarious irreligious YouTube video, an irreverent, anti-religious cartoon, or other humorous bit of media. Posts that do not reflect an atheist/irreligious theme will be deleted. (Don't make me go Old Testament.)

A slightly longer version of the clip that used to be here.

I can't wait to see how they step up the ad campaign, as May 21st comes closer.  It's just so pathetically funny, because the higher ups in the organization must REALLY believe that it's going to happen.  If they were just trying to fleece their congregation, they wouldn't be so vocal about it to the outside world.  And if they were trying to use it as a tool to convert people to their religion, they would have picked a date a little further off.

My sister is doing this Race to 2015 thing, where she's raising money to help this company translate the bible in to every language on earth by 2015, and I asked her why she doesn't use the money for something more important, like global warming research, and she said 'eternity is more important than right here and now.' I couldn't believe she actually believed that her cause was more important than the earth.

@Riomarcos, I think your link is wrong about the global warming. Real christians either don't think global warming is actually happening, or don't think it's a threat because the eternity they will spend in heaven from doing Jesus things is more important than saving the earth.

Billy Ray Cyrus says the devil and David Lynch destroyed his family

"Of course, Cyrus believes there may be a bigger monster at play here than Disney: He relates an anecdote about how the Cyrus clan—fresh from a group baptism in their wholesome hometown of Franklin, Tennessee—arrived in Hollywood and immediately came across a sign on the Los Angeles freeway that read, “ADOPT-A-HIGHWAY, ATHEISTS UNITED.” In Cyrus’ words, it was “a physical sign. It could have easily said 'You will now be attacked by Satan.' 'Entering this industry, you are now on the highway to darkness.’” As to whether he thinks that means his family is now under the crooked thumb of Old Scratch himself, Cyrus says, “I think we are right now. No doubt. There's no doubt about it,” adding, “There has always been a battle between good and evil.”"

Ooh, love the 1984 reference.  Subtle jokes are awesome.

I dunno, guys.  Have you been to many small towns in the southeast?  I've done a lot of traveling around in the area, and some of the stuff you see in the dinky mountain towns along the Appalachians is just unbelievable.  I think there's enough of this stuff around that people wouldn't have to fake it with Photoshop.
