Atheist Humor

This is the place to post that hilarious irreligious YouTube video, an irreverent, anti-religious cartoon, or other humorous bit of media. Posts that do not reflect an atheist/irreligious theme will be deleted. (Don't make me go Old Testament.)

A slightly longer version of the clip that used to be here.

OK Joe, but tell; how did you get the subject of scientism and naturalism off of my story?

Comment by Joseph P on March 2, 2012 at 4:33pm
Ohhhhhhhhh, so that's what a dogmatic is. ^.^

Chris, the rest of us are still enjoying playing off of the subject. It'll die down when we get bored with it. You don't get to unilaterally declare the subject closed.

Sometimes POE's happen regardless of intent...

Thank doG for that!  I was starting to get confused....

Joe, I don't care if you were trying Poe or whatever, let's just knock it off.

Play on my use of 'dogmatic naturalism'.

What the frick is an "automatic dog natural"???

Chris, I can simplify that a bit:

Anyone who actually uses the word 'scientism' and means it is trying to say that acceptance of scientific findings is a religion and is no more valid than their religious faith.
In other words, anyone who uses it seriously is a fuck-wit, and you can safely disregard anything that comes after a statement that makes use of the word.

Joseph, Scientism refers to the belief in the universal applicability of the scientific method and approach.  Naturalism refers to the philosophical view that the natural universe and its natural laws and forces, as opposed to Supernatural laws and forces, operate in the universe, and that nothing exists beyond the natural universe or, if it does, does not affect the natural universe.

My story is about a guy who saw fit to try and use a misunderstanding of what religion truly is to try and convince me of the incorrect fact that Atheism is a religion and failed to do so when I poked a huge hole in his logic.

I don't want to get into a back-and-forth conversation with you over a humorous story from my life that I could tell around a water cooler in an office building.
