Atheist Humor

This is the place to post that hilarious irreligious YouTube video, an irreverent, anti-religious cartoon, or other humorous bit of media. Posts that do not reflect an atheist/irreligious theme will be deleted. (Don't make me go Old Testament.)

Lewis Black: The Flintstones is not a documentary.

A slightly longer version of the clip that used to be here.

I'm not sure.  She could never get a clear picture of it for us.  I don't know if it was one of the easily housebroken breeds or not.

Basically, Claudia is one of those people who only meets the "atheist" requirement of this site by the slimmest of technicalities.  She doesn't believe in an actual god, but she believes in every other sort of spiritualist, new-age, woo-woo bullshit.  "Spirit-guides" are bordering on the edge of what makes for a god, but I guess it technically isn't enough for a case to get her kicked from the site.

She kept posting articles from new-age websites and other spiritualist sources, no matter how many times everyone else on the site kept telling her that she was insane and didn't really belong here.  She finally went away, though.

By the way, if you see a theist infiltrating the site, you can and should report them, and the admins will take care of the issue.  It happens, from time to time.

The last one I encountered was something like 5 or 6 months ago, I think.  Some mook posted a video to one of the groups, which scrolled though a series of scientists from the past several hundred years who were believers in a god ... which was particularly funny, since several of them weren't theists, such as Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking.

The guy claimed that he was just posting the video since he thought it was an interesting argument, which just goes to show how irrational he thought we were.  An anecdotal attempt at an argument from authority is not an interesting argument, particularly since scientists are vastly less religious than the general population, if you actually take a statistical sampling.  Cherry-picking Francis Collins to make an argument that scientists support your religious beliefs is dishonest in the extreme.

After repeated questioning, the guy finally admitted to me that he thought that the people in the video might be right.  Thanks for the honesty, guy, but bye bye.  *report*  Heh.

Was it housebroken?

How about naming him Brian, though?  That has a certain ring to it.

Oh, and you guys remember Claudia ... Mancusoe or something along those lines?  I haven't seen her around here for a few years now.  I think she might have had a pet unicorn.

Oh, so that's where it came from!

The three wise men arrived to visit the child lying in the manger. One of the wise men was exceptionally tall and bumped his head on the low doorway as he entered the stable. "Jesus Christ!" he exclaimed. Joseph said, "Write that down, Mary - it's better than Dave!"

Sure, you're feeling tense, irritable, but don't take it out on the children.

Glad that I could evoke these 'feelings.'
