Atheist Humor

This is the place to post that hilarious irreligious YouTube video, an irreverent, anti-religious cartoon, or other humorous bit of media. Posts that do not reflect an atheist/irreligious theme will be deleted. (Don't make me go Old Testament.)

Lewis Black: The Flintstones is not a documentary.

A slightly longer version of the clip that used to be here.

Man! When a parodist gets fooled by a parody, is his face red! I take comfort in the fact that I wasn't the only one. Just Google "dead for 48 minutes" and you'll see it repeated all over the Internet. I should have realized it when the alleged Father's name was spelled O'neal. Oh, well, good for a blog post.

BTW, if you're looking for laughs, mixed in with some solid weirdness, you can join the Facebook group "Christians Against Dinosaurs." As far as I can guess, the group was founded by humor-minded rationalists, adopted as truth by sincere Christians who believe that the Bible denies dino existence, and argued over endlessly by the Christians and atheists who are just goading them on and, unfortunately, atheists who don't seem to be getting the joke.

Thanks, Richard! The "news item" is a good example of Poe's Law; other articles in the "news" site reveal it to be a parody site.

And your commentary is spot-on! God being a heavenly Mother would mean that "Jesus Christ ... was the product of a same-sex relationship. That's mind-boggling, and nothing the Cardinal is going to tolerate."

Not to mention -- perhaps even more threatening -- the Catholic Church having to admit they were wrong for all those centuries about not ordaining women!

(And the Mormon church having to admit they were wrong about a lot of things, including their opposition to same-sex marriage!)

Thanks, Spud. Isn't Idaho where they are trying to promote an official state religion? I think the Church of the Latter Day Christ by Lesbian Mothers would be an excellent choice.

TEACHER: Now, Simon , tell me frankly, do you say prayers before eating?
SIMON: No sir, I don't have to, my Mum is a good cook.

I just remembered a joke I heard while visiting Havana, Cuba, some years ago. Where, I might add, provisions for the general populace were not that bountiful nor plentiful.

Q: What do a steak and Jesus Christ have in common?
A: Everyone talks about them but no one has ever seen them.

What causes arthritis?

I used this joke and some other gems for reading practise in my class of English. Great enthusiasm! Remark of the day: "How come I can understand this in one go?"
