Atheist Humor

This is the place to post that hilarious irreligious YouTube video, an irreverent, anti-religious cartoon, or other humorous bit of media. Posts that do not reflect an atheist/irreligious theme will be deleted. (Don't make me go Old Testament.)

I make fun of all religions, because their belief systems are so absurd. And I'm talking not just about the big three either (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) but Hinduism, Buddhism, and Zoroastrian, too.  However, I try to focus on the system and not on the people that engage in the system, unless they are doing something horrible. Meh, it's more of a personal preference I guess.

well, i guess it's impossible to let it all hang out and please everyone. last time i looked not all atheists were perfect. altho naturally i am, i think, but don't ask my wife. i wont be postiung here because i don't know how and my sense of humor is seriously warped by many years of watching japanese TV and george carlin (may he rest in peace).

It's absolutely not the same. Jesus hasn't even been proven to exist. Making fun of his connection to religion, maybe. Still immature, maybe funny. But you don't sit and ridicule the thousands of people that HAVE been documented to be crucified in the Roman occupation of that area-- THAT would be the same thing.

But thanks for the apology.

Alexa in particular and others who were offended, I hereby offer my sincere apology. I did not intend to create such outrage and vitriol.  I (naively) thought that my disclaimer to not click it if you were sensitive would suffice.

"Making fun" of someone who was murdered by Hitler's cronies is no different than making fun of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, is it?  Most would argue that it's far less horrific.  And don't we do that all the time?

Anyway, I do sincerely apologize.

From now on, I'll keep my posts a ways back from the precipice.

That depends on the version...

@rockytij  Just to let ya know, the "Jesus bruise" did make me laugh!  I mean, how do these yokels even know what "Jesus" looked like...IF there ever was such a person?  Do they have an etching that was done 2000 years ago that no archaeoligist knows about?  Maybe that's why the priests wanted him executed...making "graven images" was a capital offense.  Wasn't it?

I joined this group primarily to be an audience. I typically don't post or comment, however I feel the need to speak up for a moment.

I recall several pages back now on the comment wall, a comic that parodied Hitler being the second coming of Christ. Personally, I found it funny enough to even share it on my facebook wall! Haha, get it, he was getting revenge. No one really commented on it positively, no one back lashed at it either. Yet posting a 4chan style picture of Hitler simply saying "I am not amused" was offensive?

And the pile of ash was seriously throwing oil on the fire. I can't even try to defend the person who posted that. People were riled up and you consciously poked at the bruise. You asked for it.

Back to what I was saying tho, seriously... there are a lot of jokes and comics posted here. Some of them are hilarious, and I share them with my friends. Some of them are lame or boring, and I forget about them as quickly as yesterday's deal. Some of them are offensive. Oh haha... yeah, sure was REAL hot... those jokes, you know how I feel about them? I think they're lame. It's not amusing, it's not funny. Things that I don't find amusing, I forget. But that's just me. I understand that some people are much more sensitive than I am. Voice that it's offensive. I think everyone has the "right" to express themselves and say they were offended. But seriously, move the hell on. Some of you have literally taken to name calling. Seriously? Life is too damned short to be stressing over some fartsniffer who wanted attention.

I wanted to try to find a comic to post, in an attempt to "get the roll going again." However, I couldn't find anything that hasn't already been recently shared on this wall.

Okay everybody, let's post caricatures of starving, beaten, amputated, raped, and murdered children from Darfur. That will be hilarious. I don't think we're the ones that need to grow up. ;)
