This is the place to post that hilarious irreligious YouTube video, an irreverent, anti-religious cartoon, or other humorous bit of media. Posts that do not reflect an atheist/irreligious theme will be deleted. (Don't make me go Old Testament.)

Lewis Black: The Flintstones is not a documentary.

A slightly longer version of the clip that used to be here.

Err, Obama isn't really going on Mythbusters, is he? That would be so awesome if he did.

"Let's praise God for sending us his fiery death rock." - Reverend Lovejoy commenting on the meteor that is about to kill them all (found in the episode where Homer is Paul Bunyan).

I guess the Vatican didn't catch that Matt Groening, creator of the Simpsons, is actually agnostic.

Do space aliens need baptism?
I don't think this is supposed to be funny, I can't tell, you have to visit this site, they also have one about Galileo as satire.
I'm almost wondering whether the site is a gag, but that would imply it's supposed to be funny. I'm truly at a loss for words about this one.

Oops, didn't see you posted that already, David. But there's a link to a different article for anyone who is interested.

Now This: Vatican Declares Homer Simpson Is A ‘True Catholic’

by Glynnis MacNicol | 10:22 am, October 18th, 2010

I’m not sure this is the stamp of approval that Homer Simpson would necessarily be interested in, but the L’Osservatore Romano, the Vatican’s paper of record, has declared “Homer and Bart are Catholics.” Here is their reasoning via Britain’s Telegraph:

“The Simpsons are among the few TV programmes for children in which Christian faith, religion, and questions about God are recurrent themes.” The family “recites prayers before meals and, in their own peculiar way, believes in the life thereafter”.

It quoted an analysis by a Jesuit priest, Father Francesco Occhetta, of a 2005 episode of The Simpsons, The Father, the Son and the Holy Guest Star, which revolved around Catholicism and was aired a few weeks after the death of Pope John Paul II….”Few people know it, and he does everything he can to hide it, but it is true: Homer J Simpson is a Catholic,” insists L’Osservatore Romano.

Either that or the L’Osservatore Romano has figured out how SEO works. Homer Simpson, meanwhile, has recently become a popular character for high profile folks to fixate on. Cass Sunstein frequently uses him as an example of why American’s need to be encouraged to eat better, prompting Glenn Beck to introduce a Homer Simpson cutout to a number of his shows.
