Atheist Humor

This is the place to post that hilarious irreligious YouTube video, an irreverent, anti-religious cartoon, or other humorous bit of media. Posts that do not reflect an atheist/irreligious theme will be deleted. (Don't make me go Old Testament.)

Lewis Black: The Flintstones is not a documentary.

A slightly longer version of the clip that used to be here.

This isn't exactly atheist humor, but I thought it was pretty good, so:

Patricia, it's scary how close to the truth your cartoon is.

Yes!

Someone else pointed out that if the creation account in Genesis 2 were true, and Adam's partner were cloned from his rib, the new person would also be XY and male -- so God created Adam and Steve! (Or perhaps, as George Takei observed, Adam and Yves!)

About the Ten Commandments and "truth decay": apparently "Thou shalt not steal" originally referred specifically to stealing a person to sell them into slavery, that is, it meant "Thou shalt not kidnap", which would have been a capital offense like many of the other Big Ten. The Hebrew Bible has plenty of other prohibitions against stealing property, using dishonest scales and measures, and so forth, that had lesser penalties.

A thoroughly humanistic maxim that's taught by a religion as well: the Talmud praises those who "say a thing in the name of the one who said it". I do appreciate the good examples here at AN of people citing (or linking to) sources of quotes and images! (When we know them! Sometimes a striking or funny image is so widespread around the net, without attribution, that searching for its origin doesn't work.)

I stole it myself (from comments at either Friendly Atheist or Joe.My.God.); feel free to pass it onwards!
