Well said, Ruth; thanks for sharing that!

(Relevant with corporately-captured legislatures and their bills and laws to criminalize protests that threaten a company's profits as "ecoterrorism".)

The Trump administration erasing trans people, and unleashing a wave of murder, to distract from Republican corruption? It's possible:

Republican crime and corruption? No problem! Deflect! Distract! Inc... (Politics, Economics, and Religion)

The Titanic sinks as passengers rearrange deck chairs. A perfect metaphor for climate change. People seem not to understand the significance of current weather events. Some say "Global Cooling," vs. "Global warming" as if it were disputed.

Speak up about the definition of Global Warming. The threat presents terrible consequences.

Of course it is! We can hardly look the next generation in the eye, let alone our fellow animals...

If we fail to stop warming below 2°C, or actually to below 1.5°C, we run very large and basically incalculable risks for humanity.

This is not about the environment, this is about preventing human suffering. [emphasis mine]

Stephan Rahmstorf, Professor of Physics of the Oceans, at Potsdam University, makes it clear that Climate Destabilization is a moral issue.

I know I've thrown this quote around A|N here and there, but as it comes to the issue of human vs. biblical morality, I think the following says it astonishingly well:

If I could stop a man from raping a child, I would. That's the difference between me and your God.

Thanks, Ruth. I wrote that passage a long time ago. Too bad nothing ever came of it. Cynthia, my heroine, had been slipped a pill of psilocybin (DMT), and her entire worldview changed accordingly. One of the most difficult aspects of writing is to convey mood.

‘Please preserve the Earth,’ they cry, like mystical chants of Odysseus’ sirens carried by the winds of time,

Sadly, the chants of future sirens have landed on deaf ears. The planet is in much worse shape now than it was in 2007 when Mirror Reversal was published.

You just gave me an idea of my next blog post.  Feel free to use the passage on Facebook or whatever as you wish.

That is very beautiful and poignant, Richard. I wish everyone could "hear" the voices of the future as well as you.
