Honestly, of all the brands of Christianity I tried, Episcopalian was the most liberal. They head of the church is a pretty much agnostic woman, and they have gay bishops and priests.

I heard this on NPR this morning! I'm very proud of them.
If you had to pick a denomination (instead of opting out) they're one of the least intrusive on their members' lives. My priest even recommended I get a divorce (which I desperately needed). I can't imagine the pastors of my childhood telling any woman to get a divorce, no matter how craptastically her husband treated her.
