Special Olympics Missouri dismissed a volunteer upon learning via victims of his child molestation background as a priest.  He had past a background check despite a 5 million dollar settlement for molesting boys while with the church.

That isn't at all surprising. That's WHY corporations make out-of-court settlements. Part of the settlement is that they don't admit guilt, in the legal sense. I'm sure he wasn't on any sex-offender registries.
Yes but the church is supposed to be better than a regular corporation.

Also Monday, David Clohessy, national director of the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, called on the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph to post information about Ericksen and every other "admitted or credibly accused priest" who is in the area.

Rebecca Summers, spokeswoman for the diocese, said it has considered posting such information on its website, but she wasn't sure if it would do so.

And what evidence have we actually seen of that?
"But I didn't really have sex with them!" OK, so he supposedly didn't. Still, he really thinks he should be working with kids after doing that?!
