Criminal charges were filed against Pope Benedict XVI at the International World Court last week by two lawyers from the Pope's home state of Bavaria. The charges, which allege crimes against humanity, were submitted by Christian Sailer and Gert-Joachim Hetzel of Marktheidenfeld to Dr Luis Moreno Ocampo, the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court at the Hague.

And it's not a hoax from The Onion either.

More here.

Excellent news!
About time. Woo Hoo! It might be next to impossible to convict the Pope, but at least it was done, which is the appropriate thing to do.
I guess lots of people would agree that a charge against the pope is about f****** time. BUT we can be sure that this one doesn't emanate from humanity or reason, but rather simply from competitiveness. The lawyers Christian Sailer and Gert-Joachim Hetzel are namely members of the free-christian sect "Universelles Leben" (Universal Life). From this point of view it seems paradox that they charge someone (though it's justified) with accusations, they themselves should be charged with as well.

I would like to see major humanistic associations conjointly report an offense to the International Court of Justice in Den Haag (The Hague) against the pope and of course religious organisations in general.
Sad truth is, if he were the leader of any other type of organization he'd be behind bars already.

Particularly for legal-minded readers.

Formal criminal complaint lodged by German lawyers against the German national Joseph Ratzinger / Pope Benedict XVI in the International Criminal Court in the Hague on 14.02.2011.

A copy of the complaint in the English language: »Criminal Charges against Dr. Joseph Ratzinger, Pope of the Roman Catholic Church --- on grounds of Crimes against Humanity --- According to Art. 7 ICC Statute« can be found here @ ( a total of 51 pages ).

This formal complaint against the Pope was also lodged in the ICC in German: »Strafanzeige gegen Dr. Joseph Ratzinger, Papst der röm.-kath. Kirche wegen Verbrechen gegen die Menschlichkeit gem. Art.7 IStGH-Statut« @ ( a total of 59 pages ).

Hallo good folks.

This is being posted by an Australian, resident in the land Down Under, in Adelaide, South Australia, an old codger, who himself was a "ward of the state" in 'institutional care' in a church-run ( fundamentalist evangelical-Lutheran ! ) "CHILD WELFARE HELL-HOLE" in West-Germany, where he was also being subjected to unpaid forced labour in a vast peat-bog in Lower Saxony --- just like the girls were being subjected to unpaid forced labour by the merciful sisters in "Magdalene Sisters’ Laundries" all over the world, including in West-Germany, at the time --- , in the early 1960s, before migrating to Australia [ as a stateless refugee ] at age 17½ in March 1964.

I am ( for the last 8 years ) in close contact in Germany with "victims of child abuse in institutional care", particularly as it relates to church institutions both catholic and protestant in the former West-Germany ( Federal Republic of Germany, 1945-1992 ) and I write extensively on this topic on the Internet in German, in order to take church and state and users of post-war forced labour to task with the endeavor to work towards acknowledgment of the injustices done to us and the human rights abuses perpetrated on us and to obtain a just compensation package for all victims concerned.

I also maintain a Website on this topic: / as well as two blogs: and

With kind regards from the land Down Under.

Question remains....will justice finally be served, or will This "Pope" get away with his crimes simply because he is the "Pope". I doubt justice will be served, there are too many that still believe he is the direct line to christ and give his title special treatment as if he is above the law.
Wow, the pope looks so evil in this photo O.o I get the feeling it's not just because he's not photogenic.
