Basically, Texas is the largest buyer of textbooks in the United States. Because of this, many textbook manufacturers make textbooks according to the standards that the Texas schoolboards set. This, in turn, influences all of the other states because the textbook manufacturers don't want to bother with redoing the textbooks to fit the standards and needs of other states.
Things like this make my blood boil. They're trying to rewrite history so it fits THEIR idea of what is correct rather than letting children know the real truths of what went on in our nation's past.
