PZ Myers offered the ne plus ultra comment on this story already but I just couldn't resist adding my two cents worth.
Gayle Haggard, wife of disgraced mega-church minister Ted Haggard, appeared on NBC's Today show Wednesday and told co-host Meredith Viera that her husband was "cured" of any homosexual tendencies. Gayle appeared on the show to promote her new book, "Why I Stayed: The Choices I Made In My Darkest Hour." (more here)

I can't think of Ted Haggard without thinking of this video:

It makes me laugh every time I hear it. It's a song called "Ted Haggard is completely hetrosexual."
Me either. That's why I gave my article the title it has and put the video in it.
Ted Haggard is living in a river in Egypt. Whether he wants to admit it to himself or not, he is at the least bisexual, and I'm sorry to tell you, Ted, but as a bisexual myself, those feelings don't go away! You can't wish them away or pray them away or attempt to compensate with straight sex with your wife. It's a part of who you are, and if you want to be in denial about who you are, that part's going to come back to bite you on the ass. Maybe not today, tomorrow or the day after, but it's the truth: running away from who you are is just about the stupidest thing anyone can ever do.

I'll be looking for you in the headlines, Ted.
Did they throw away "Ted two", too? *snickers*
I just think it's beyond perfect that Haggard was the premier Fundie preacher in "Jesus Camp," then after filming, right as the film started making its way to the festivals, the news comes out that he's gay.

Perfect. Absolutely perfect!
I hope you are wrong about the gravy train. It wouldn't help my already shaky faith on the human species that people should follow him again (not because he's a gay meth-head, mind you, but because he's a colossal hypocrite).
Btw, I might be biased because of his history, but judging from the photos on his website he's still giving off gay vibes. The photo-op with his wife reminded me of Will & Grace :D

Sadly however, I'll bet he'll have plenty of followers. Not hard to make that crowd believe anything you say, or forget your transgressions altogether.
My remark was about hypocrisy, not gayness, but I fear that you're right about the rest :\
For the longest time I actually felt sorry for the guy. Obviously he is just another sky pilot jabbering into heaven, but then I saw the HBO documentary: [ http://www.hbo.com/documentaries/the-trials-of-ted-haggard/index.html ] THE TRIALS OF TED HADDARD. He comes off as a pathetic loser. I don't feel bad for him any more. I came across this video of Richard Dawkins interviewing Haggard at his church in Jesus-land. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zr0RgqxadTI Fast forward to 5:50 in and you get to watch Haggard play the arrogance card. Almost every preacher, when confronted with their own lies, accuses their antagonist with ARROGANCE BEFORE GOD!!! It's not difficult to see the overwhelming hate that drives Haggard. What an ass. The very definition of arrogance is to decry knowledge of what God wants.

I watched their interview on Larry King last week, and it's pretty clear to me that he's as gay as they come. If I saw him out in a club somewhere not knowing who he was, I'd instantly think he was gay.

I'm afraid it won't be long before he's back on our (well, not mine :) TV screens peddling his shit and skimming the offering plate, and he'll probably be bigger than ever because of his infamy and (alleged) reformation. Once a huckster, always a huckster. And people will always be gullible.
Ted Haggard a hetero? Maybe in the front he is.
