Atheist News Podcast Project

Hey guys.

I probably shouldn't put this off anymore, so I'm just going to jump on it and improvise. I'm pretty sure the show is over. It was a ton of fun doing it, but with work and my son and my wife in school I simply don't have time to do it anymore.

Other folks have offered to take over but I don't really feel comfortable with that. Quit while you're ahead, sez I.

Anyhow, I payed for another year of hosting, so the archive of podcasts will be available for at least that long.

I really enjoyed podcasting, so I might do something again in the future. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks guys and gals! It was AMAZING.

A bit of a roundabout, did our reactions to nature cause the perception of God or is God reacting to our perceptions of demons by sending a bad actor to clear up any misconceptions?

5,000 bucks? Nah, I'll just sell myself for a few billion years. Who has 5 grand just laying around? =P

So glad Stephen Baldwin cleared up that piece of psychology for us. Unfortunately, we all know that sudden anger is caused by marauding body thetans.

Oh goodness! what a weirdo: "Demons manifest themselves in people in different ways," he says seriously. "For instance, out of nowhere, somebody can become very angry for no reason. That's not just an emotion. That's a demon."

Having just listened to this podcast, I had a few thoughts about the linking of religious organizations and charity. The discussion seemed to center on inserting atheists/nonbelievers into the big picture of charities, and how to go about (for lack of a better term) "getting credit" for being a non-believer while performing acts of charity. I think this is the wrong tactic. It is not necessary to have it known that "We who do not collect barbie dolls are providing soup to the homeless". Collection of barbie dolls has no bearing on giving. Belief in god doesn't, either, but somehow, they have managed to attach the two (historically, the religious have had the power and the funds to do this, but I can't see any other attachment). We, as atheists, shouldn't be focusing on planting our flag on the territory of charity, but rather forcing out their flag. I theorize that if you told your average baptist church that, "Yes, you can send food and supplies and aid to Haiti, but you are barred from promoting your religion while you do it", that church would cease to provide support. I'm sure you could find a few that still would, but overall, I imagine they would pitch a fit and take their bottled water and go home. But this needs to be done. This is not to say that overall charity should be diminished (an unfortunate, but likely temporary, drawback of this sort of ban), but that when one thinks "charity", "god" is brought to mind just as quickly as "barbie dolls".

Please forgive my rambling, I just wanted to put that on record somewhere while I was thinking about it.

Yeah, I kinda realized quite a bit after the fact I made a freudian misspelling.

But hey, fission has its place in the grand scheme! It's kind of like worshiping a saint next to the true trinity, right? Right? ;-)

@Jo Jerome
Hate to be picky, but it is hydrogen, carbon and FUSION. Fusion builds up to heavier elements, fission breaks heavier elements down to lighter ones.
