Atheist Photography Club

For the most part we photographers see the world as it truly is through the lens of a camera which is what we also strive to do as atheists and skeptics. Photographers of all skill levels welcome.

Hi Richard,  That sounds wonderful.  I need to get to the beach more often.  I just joined a local photography club here in Sarasota, FL.  It is a nice group of photographers - mostly beginner to intermediate, although the leader of the club has over 35 years of experience and taught photography for 25 years.  We get together every other week to view and critique each others work and each meeting has a theme (the last one was landscape, the next one is self-portrait).  It's great to be able to talk with others who are passionate about photography.

By the way, we have some geese at our pond that just had babies. Here is one of them:

I've got some more photos of them here if you are interested.

Am off down to the south coast later in the year to do a week of coastal photography.

Can't wait.

Hi Steph S,

Thanks for the positive feedback. I am passionate about wildlife photography. If it moves, I try to capture a photo of it. If you are interested, I have some of my work posted here:

Marx I love that flower photo! Awesome. I have some I took myself. I just have to download them from my camera.

No filters. Shot with my Canon EF 70-200mm F/4L IS USM lens. The head you linked to looks pretty good, although I have not done much research on heads, as most of my photography is done hand-held, so I have not invested in a quality head.

Thanks - and yup.  I drive into work every day with this dorkish grin "I can't believe I *work* here!) such moments of joy are tempered by moments reality like yesterday having my hand stuck down the sump pipe of a malfunction ice machine that had flooded  the media kitchen. C'est la vie. At least I'm being paid for it!

My current tripod (£14 from Tesco) has a fixed head, a quick release and a spirit level - all things considered it is pretty good - but I can;t upgrade it for the types of photos I want to take so this is a necessity any way of looking at it.

This is the head I was thinking of as an interim before I start saving for the panormaic head.

Lovely capture!  Did you use any filters for that?
