Why is that the MMORPG players get all the attention? At least we "analog" gamers haven't replaced our imaginations with a dual core Intel processor.
On the other hand... Felicia Day.... Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

I don't know how I missed this group, but I'm seriously glad it exists.

Here are some thoughts about my favorite fantasy setting...

Been playing on and off RPG's since 1985 (The day I read a Playboy containing an article about D&D). Now I mostly play CoC and Paranoia. Living in Amsterdam and am 38.

Hi everyone :) I am Cake and I've been roleplaying on and off for a few years. Most of my interest now lies in Live-Action Role Play (I am the main ref, or DM, for our university system), but I still play DnD and CoC from time to time.

Any fellow LARPers in the house?

I am a very avid roleplayer. D+D, White Wolf, Star Wars and Star Trek. I play those the most. My favorite is the White Wolf. I am 31 now and have been playing since I was 12 and running games since I was 16. I have no plans to stop and look for any opportunity to be able to play.

I love the "Priests and Prophets" sketches and I think an actual game is a great idea. My suggestion is go the Hackmaster route: Make the game playable (although I recommend not going as over the top as Hackmaster, keep the rules simple) but make the game a parody of Judeo-Christian mythology. I'd certainly buy a copy.

We have a recurring comedy segment on the Chariots of Iron podcast which depicts a roleplaying game featuring the roleplayers taking on the roles of various biblical figures, I've been writing the scripts and we've been talking about actually writing up some rules and making them available in PDF form.

Cruising through the web I saw some really interesting attempts to define the Judeo/Christian/Islamic God in RPG terms on Complaints by relgious players caused the site moderators to shut down these (very fruitful) discussions, which was sad.

As athiests whe should be able to get a fruitful discussion going on how you could use a Yahweh/God/Allah being in an RPG without frightening the believers into silencing the discussion.

I mean the Abrahmic religions have given us HEAPS of material which has been useful for gamers, why not use the big Kahuna as well? Works just as well as a benefactor or a supervillain either way.

Ah, memories, I've still got my battered First-run of deities and Demigods, breasts and copyright infringements all intact.
