I'm for getting together to meet within our own home state of Arkansas. There are some important issues that need our active participation. ( HJR1009 is just one of them. )

I only know about the Arkansas social groups right here on A|N and three local activist groups: Arkansas Society of Freethinkers, Fayetteville Freethinkers and Freethought Society of Northwest Arkansas (... and this last one was just started a week ago - by me!)

I really think we can do better than this. Networking, meeting face-to-face, town-to-town and city-by-city is something we ought to really sink our teeth into (even if your uppers are removable, like mine are) ... getting involved, hands-on, is important.

What do you think?

Ok... Here's an update on Arkansas groups.

We now have two more on-the-ground groups in AR - Texarkana & Fort Smith.

So... Where are the people in this group...??? Is there anyone in (or around) Jonesboro or not? Drop an email to me if you're there. Randall.Doc.Fleck@gmail.com
yes but what are the options in NEA, have you heard of any speaker of interest coming to ASU.
I haven't heard of any speakers headed that way, but there's no reason at all we couldn't arrange for one. I know that Darrel Ray, author of "The God Virus" is very interested in speaking to on-the-ground groups to encourage facilitating "RR" (Recover from Religion) meetings.

Would you like to start up a group in Paragould? I'll be happy to help. And if you're aware of some other people who might be interested, like from Jonesboro, Blytheville, Newport or Walnut Ridge, let's get after them, too. It's no problem at all to create a Meetup.com site that can gather new members to a group. If you want to try, I'm game to buy....... And you can start a FREE website to help support your group - click this: http://www.freethoughtnwa.org/ and this: http://www.meetup.com/Texarkana-Freethought-Group/ and this: http://ftsmithfreethought.ning.com/ These are all new groups started-up this year.
let me think about it a bit. I've got my plate very full.
I did read about RR meetings today, and that has me interested. Jonesboro would be the best placeI think Pual M. might want in on this to.
RR is a great idea........ I'm starting one in Springdale, AR.

I'm for getting set up in Jonesboro, too ...tell Paul M.
Randall, you got your wish this past Monday.

Go to Facebook and search "Atheist Community of Jonesboro". It is a group that my friend and I launched this past Monday...

We've got some pretty HUGE plans, and even though we just got started, we are very well organized.

We are currently being advertised on FB, local KASU, the Jonesboro Sun, the ASU Herald, campus fliers, local KAIT community calendar, and Craigslist. We've already put in a lot of work, including a PAID ad in the Sun classifieds.

We're having our first Informational meeting this up-and-coming Tuesday. You should come, and bring whoever you can with you. Check the website or e-mail us at atheistcommunityofjonesboro@gmail.com
\joseph --wish u would post stuff on here, on Facebook I have to many coworker and they don't know my mind and would be into my personal life, I feel freer to open up here. hope to meet u on tuesday.
I'll try to do that...
