Scientists from the Netherlands, Germany and the UK have developed a possible cure for gray hair. Gray hair is caused by a build up of hydrogen peroxide in the hair follicles that bleaches the hair at its base. In trying to find a cure for a different condition called vitiligo they discovered a method that is supposed to remove hydrogen peroxide from hair follicles thereby allowing the hair to regain its original color. The study concerning vitiligo involved 2,411 subjects and has been published in the journal, Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB). Per the first article:
“For generations, numerous remedies have been concocted to hide gray hair,” said Dr. Gerald Weissmann, the editor-in-chief of The FASEB Journal, “but now, for the first time, an actual treatment that gets to the root of the problem has been developed...."
I guess you included Fox News to be "fair and balanced." Sorry. Couldn't resist. Gray hair aside the contribution this will make to the treatment of Vitiligo is certainly worthwhile. But speaking of gray hair, I wonder what color my hair used to be.
