I just came across an article on this one as well. I generally think that the fact that one of the primary bases for most water based food chains/webs is being destroyed it will be rather devastating until plankton that can survive in the warmer waters can spread and assist in adapting to the newly warmed environment.
Panic now. Avoid the rush.
One has to also consider the fact that the bulk of the worlds oxygen is generated by the phytoplankton - take short shallow breaths.
