Whether you're a professional, a student, an amateur, an enthusiast, whatever! Lots of atheists love science. Might as well have a group for it!

Feel free to nerd out, link articles, talk about your favorite field of research, whatever!

I've been super busy with school this semester -- no time for Atheist Nexus, sadly!!
If anyone who's around here a lot wants me to toss them moderation privileges to run this group or anything, just send me (Sara) a message! Thanks!

Removed ability to send mass messages to everyone in the group. At 1000+ members, that seems like asking for spam.

Offer still open if anyone active in the group wants moderation privileges, but it appears everything has been going smoothly with all kinds of great discussions without moderation. Fantastic! :)

I concur with that Orwell pic Ruth.

Another Heartland Institute Bullet Point.

* emphasize that we are pro-science and pro-environment… and the other side is not

I don't think Joseph Bast knows what science is. He never did finish his bachelor's degree. 1976-1984: undergraduate, University of Chicago (incomplete degree(link is external))

Bullet point from Heartland Institute "Red Team Briefing" on Trump administration of a Red Team – Blue Team exercise on climate change.

* fundamentally challenge, reform, or replace the National Academy of Sciences, the source of much pseudoscience.

I left out the link to the page which contains the quote. Sorry about that. Here it is:

Vangelis - what was the context? Without the context of the statement, there is no way to speculate meaningfully as to what was meant by the statement.

The Atheist Foundation of Australia works against science and it is frustrating! Comments on their "philosophy" make statements about how the mind works which contradict peer reviewed papers. Not sure why but I have written about my frustration with it here:

Here is another active geologic zone, this time in the Aleutian Basin.

My goodness, this is an active geologic zone. We know that with the weight of the ice leaving the poles, the plates will be responding to the shift in weight. Time to take a look at all the tectonic plates.

Planet 9, we know you're out there and we will find you! Unless you're not, in which case, disregard this message!

More evidence for the very likely existence of planet 9:
