Whether you're a professional, a student, an amateur, an enthusiast, whatever! Lots of atheists love science. Might as well have a group for it!

Feel free to nerd out, link articles, talk about your favorite field of research, whatever!

The icon is from www.wearscience.com.

I've been super busy with school this semester -- no time for Atheist Nexus, sadly!!
If anyone who's around here a lot wants me to toss them moderation privileges to run this group or anything, just send me (Sara) a message! Thanks!

Removed ability to send mass messages to everyone in the group. At 1000+ members, that seems like asking for spam.

Offer still open if anyone active in the group wants moderation privileges, but it appears everything has been going smoothly with all kinds of great discussions without moderation. Fantastic! :)

Water plus sound : love that physics! The reverse effect would make a cool fountain for the lobby of a physics department.

Yeah, it's fun and it appeals to and at least emotionally persuades many young people.

And then we have nerds. I first heard of e=mc2 in a college physics class and set out to explore it. Having been in the Navy, I calculated the energy in a pound of matter to be adequate to lift the battleship Missouri many miles high.

I think it essential to show kids what fun science can be--whether by music or  math. If we'd done so, the anti-science xianity we know would have died early.

Joan, I've watched some of it, and will watch all of it when I get a new internet service provider that doesn't charge me extra for watching videos.

Seth Lloyd on Quantum Life

No reason quantum physics should be shunned, it begins to look understandable, even as it makes no sense to intuition.
