Zaki your teacher and wikipedia, both are right about islamabad. How both conflicting things are correct, you need to have a real taste of this country to understand that.

islamabad is very snobbish and for those who have friends in high places and also party much of the time. I'd choose karachi over it any day!!

Wikipedia Defines islamabad as Abode of Islam, guess my history teacher in islamabad had a different opinion

Damn did anybody even understand my last comment...

The point was that while Mo was alive he saw what people did with the pics of Jesus and Ahura Mazda and the other civilizations and given that he was preaching to be only a messenger and not a god walking on earth, he did not intend people to worship him after he died but to have a connection with god directly.. especially that when islam started off it was more like a deistic approach then a theistic ritualistic one. Basically Mo was sitting there for 40 years thinking what the hell is all this universe, then the story goes on to lets read and understand then after that it all got fucked up with walking around a building and all.. And i think that Mo wanted to control people as he felt smarter than the rest so he was like okay i am a prophet and he went on a dishonest spree

Sufian: I hope one day we can actually speak our minds freely like that in the muslim world.. How long will it take only "Krishna Knows" :D

Hey, I love Islamabad and I thought that it meant the land of Islam!

I think its silly to even think about religious bureaucracy, I love how george carlin makes fun of swearing on bible:
People are just scared, I might draw Mohammed and the big guy up there will whip my ass, better not do it, God is just a horrible bully sometimes, even those who believe in him should get mad, haha...

Earthling, I was just thinking the same certain other religions where it's blasphemous to depict God, it's also blasphemous to say the word, and I'd think it'd be blasphemous to name someone after someone if you can't even draw their picture. It seems like they just found ways around blasphemy, or found "acceptable" ways to do it!

the problem is which pictures not names.. In pakistan though many people place the name Mohamed before the real name in respect of Mo but in arab countries its just about the picture
