Your yard sounds wonderful Sentient - a real treat for the birds.

Ruth - that's a great cartoon - and if they keep cutting down the trees to build roads - that's exactly what it will look like.

Beautiful little bird. 

I just added a thistle feeder to my yard.  Now they can get mixed birdseed, or thistles, whichever they want

There is also a suet feeder.

Haven't seen one of these.  Mostly house finches, chicadees, and jays.
