We lived at Ft. Hood, Tx in the early 1970s and had a "Ranger Station" in our back yard that was a climbing contraption for school age children, with ladders, slides, climbing ropes, with a lot of bells and whistles that made it the favorite toy in the neighborhood. Also participating in the play was a Mockingbird, quite tame. He loved the kids and they returned the affection. They would chatter together and he always came around when the kids had their lunches on the top deck. His wonderful sounds delighted us all.
