This exchange should be converted into a discussion topic to make it more management. I will add, though, that Philip is not conversant with the American situation to understand RealType's situation. Very religious black women in the USA have been known to be intolerant of atheists, mojo notwithstanding. I have been more fortunate than RealType, which may be a function of living in big cities, I can't be sure. But there is a generational shift in progress and numerous black atheist women have surfaced, thanks to the Internet & activities organized via the Internet.

I think you are making it unneccessarily difficult. If you've got the mojo, then race or religion is irrelevant to women. So rather than looking for God you should be looking for mojo. I have lived with Black women, Christian and Moslem. I am an evangelical athiest and White to boot. Although I must say none of their fathers ever liked me!

Today I live with happily with a white fundementalist and there is a way. Love and family triumphs over philosophy.

I find its hards for a black man to find a black companion beause most black woman just dont want an atheist boyfriend. even though their is nothing wrong with dating other races but what if i want to raie black atheist babies. I have never met a black female atheist in real life.

Being a black female atheist isn't so bad. I mean, it's not something I discuss openly because I find so many theist to be closed minded. But part of my personal belief system is that there's no one right way to live, so I live and let live. I used to debate theist all the time when I first became an atheist, but I no longer need anyone to beleive what I believe for me to well, believe it! lol I'm glad not to be clouded by religion though. I'm at peace.

Well I'm fairly new to atheism, so not many of my friends know. Only my agnostic friend knows. My mother thinks I'm going through a phase with this atheism thing. I'm not too sure of my dad's beliefs. He is scary to talk to, but he doesn't like religion, although he does go to church to see his family. I guess, he is an agnostic theist. How's yours?
