Glad to see this group here. I am from Barbados, now living in Canada and concerned about how religion in our islands stifles critical thinking and reason in general. Look forward to interacting with all of you.

Welcome "Grenadian Freethinker". I would like to get an organised group going here in my island as well, but all in good time. I'll be checking up on you guys' group as well for ideas.

LOL indeed. But I guess by their logic it makes sense. After-all the big guy in the sky can do all things. So increasing taxes and taking on more debt won't harm the economy as long as God is on your side and is looking out for you. I can't but help laugh at such things. The current ruling party once used as a slogan I find fitting: "God is good all the time!" They got that from the churches. Even the church I once belonged to (which was far from mainstream religion) uses that slogan.

lol lol ....i kno right! I see you said something about there being elections on your side in Dec. The govt here just had a HUGE prayer breakfast here yesterday morning. To pray for the economy apparently...while they increase taxes AND are currently borrowing from the IMF again! So I am sure you can understand the state of the country's economy at the moment.

Seriously? And I thought Dominica was bad! Well I'm sure we'll get more people coming here soon enough. Even if it's just for the palm trees and beach scenery.
